Maury’s response to a difficult start is getting louder.
The Commodores beat Booker T. Washington 58–8 on October 2, giving the Norfolk program three consecutive victories and a 3–2 record. The result followed a 58–6 win at Churchland and a 56–28 victory at Bishop McNamara.
A different direction after two close losses
Maury opened with a 31–30 loss to Mallard Creek, then fell 35–34 to Varina in overtime. Two points separated the Commodores from a very different opening fortnight.
The three games since have produced 172 Maury points. The last two opponents managed 14 combined, giving the winning run substance on both sides of the scoreboard.
Another Norfolk matchup ahead
Norview is next, listed for October 9 at 7 p.m. on Maury’s schedule. For Commodores supporters, the question now is whether this three-game response can become a longer October run.
