Alex Q. Askew

Alex Askew represents parts of Norfolk and Virginia Beach in House District 95. A Hampton University graduate, he works in community relations at Sentara Health. His civic background includes board involvement with New Leaders Council Virginia and the Democratic Business Alliance of South Hampton Roads, along with participation in the Sorensen Institute.

Askew serves on Education, Appropriations, and Counties, Cities and Towns. He chairs the Appropriations subcommittee on Compensation and Retirement and Subcommittee No. 3 of Counties, Cities and Towns. His other appropriations assignments include higher education and transportation and public safety. Residents tracking school policy or state spending can use his official committee links to follow individual proposals, then contact his office with the bill number and the effect on their community. District 95 crosses the city line, but it does not cover all of either city.
