Background and local role

Karen Carnegie represents portions of Chesapeake and Suffolk in Virginia’s House District 89. An attorney, she earned her law degree from the University of Richmond in 2008. Her community experience includes leadership roles with the Deep Creek Ruritan Club and service as a Girl Scout leader, alongside membership in local and state bar associations.

Carnegie serves on Privileges and Elections, Courts of Justice and Public Safety, with additional assignments in election administration, campaigns and candidates, civil matters and judicial matters. Those committee pages help residents follow the subjects coming before her in Richmond. Her public House contacts are intended for legislative correspondence and constituent questions. Include a bill number or a concise description of the state-government issue when writing. Since District 89 includes parts of two cities, verify your street address before treating this as your district office.
