Dan Rosinski stood among the apparent winners of Chesapeake’s five council seats following the November 3 election. The Navy officer and attorney has emphasized a practical connection between housing opportunities and the infrastructure needed to support them.
Military and legal experience
Rosinski’s background includes degrees from Princeton University and the University of Virginia School of Law, Navy service and continued work in the Navy Reserve. Local volunteering adds a community connection to that professional experience.
His public priorities include housing affordability, taxes and fees, and growth that does not overburden roads, schools or other infrastructure. He has also supported safer roads, new sidewalks, mental-health resources and recycling, while opposing data-center expansion.
Planning for the home and the trip beyond it
A home is connected to the streets, schools and public services around it. Rosinski’s emphasis on housing and infrastructure puts those needs in the same conversation, with attention to where growth is proposed and how improvements would be funded.
Chesapeake elects its council members citywide, so that conversation reaches communities with different development patterns and needs. As the results move through review, his priorities provide a useful introduction to the issues he would bring to council and the investments residents can follow in its public agenda.
