Worth Remick emerged as the apparent winner in Virginia Beach’s District 6, putting him on course to continue council work at the intersection of business investment and neighborhood life. The Oceanfront and the communities around it are important parts of that story.
Experience beyond the council chamber
Remick moved to Virginia Beach in 1985 and was first elected to City Council in 2022. His background includes commercial real estate, volunteer service and several years coaching boys’ and girls’ tennis at Cox High School.
His council responsibilities have included liaison work involving the ViBe Creative District, resort-area interests and Old Beach design review, along with flood-prevention oversight. Those assignments bring residents, businesses and visitors into the same discussion about streets and public places.
Investment that works on the ground
A resort-area project can create new activity while also changing parking, access and the experience of a nearby residential street. Remick’s business background and neighborhood-facing assignments put those practical details alongside the wider economic conversation.
Flood protection is another continuing part of the work. The city’s Flood Protection Program tracks projects through planning, design and construction, giving residents a way to follow progress beyond an announcement. As the next term approaches, the local story will be shaped by the decisions and implementation behind those visible projects.
